PDFViewer does not printing text

Hi,

When I try to print PDF from PDFViewer control or demo site there is no text, only tables and images. Any idea why?

Hi Josip,

Please verify that you have all required assembly references. Text not showing is usually due to a missing Telerik.Windows.Zip.dll, which is required by RadPdfViewer to show a file. In a nutshell, all required dlls by the control are:

• Telerik.Windows.Controls
• Telerik.Windows.Controls.Input
• Telerik.Windows.Controls.FixedDocumentViewers
• Telerik.Windows.Documents.Fixed
• Telerik.Windows.Zip

For the toolbar, you'd also need:

• Telerik.Windows.Controls.Navigation.

If this is not the cause of the problem, we would appreciate a little more information about the version of the controls you are using, the Silverlight version, OS, printer, etc.

I tried to print on PDFViewer demo site from Windows 7, IE 9, Silverlight 5.0.61118.0 with Xerox ColorQube 9201 PS, Adobe PDF Printer and Bullzip PDF Printer.

Hi Josip,
We will further investigate this problem and will make sure to find the best solution for your case. It is know bug that RadPdfViewer does not print properly when a PDF printer is used, however, until now, all the printers we and our clients have used have managed to print correctly.

I can confirm that printing to 'Bullzip Pdf printer' does not work.
 It works on our physical printers

Hello Christian,

Thank you for your feedback. As Kammen noted, this is a known issue with PDF printers.

However, as the problem does not occur with MS XPS printer or with physical devices, the problem has not been addressed yet.
