Ok, I found this thread http://www.telerik.com/forums/chart-pan-zoom-feature-without-setting-the-datasource-property which says you should use a dataSource for panning and zooming.  That was a couple years, and I want to make sure nothing has been updated and you still have to use a dataSource.

This is related to my other multi-axis and zooming and panning question because before I was using series data and it was working well, but since apparently we have to use dataSource for panning and zooming I'm having some issues.

Are there any examples of multi-axis with panning and zooming?

Hi James,

Using a dataSource is not a requirement for the built-in panning and zooming.  I created an example based on the multi axis demo to demonstrate the scenario.

The custom panning and zooming can also work without a dataSource by using the setOptions method to set the new axes ranges instead of modifying the data. This wasn't possible previously in all scenarios because the categoryAxis did not support min and max values.

Thanks for the great example Daniel.   Previously when I was using series data, I think my problem was that I didn't have the categories array set properly in the CategoryAxis.   It's good to know that it does work with series data.
