I was searching for an event to detect when the overlay is displayed or hidden from the user perspective. If isShowOverlayOnTapEnabled is on I would suspect an event to monitor the change and do some action.
Because I want to display or hide the applicationbar together with the overlay.
I did subscribe to the tap event of the slideview but that one gets invoked also when you douple tap the PanAndZoomImage.
Can I do this another way or will there be such an event in the future?

Unfortunately this scenario is not supported with the RadSlideView control. We will consider your suggestion, but we can not provide a specific time frame for availability of such feature.
