I'm attempting to upgrade an Entity Framework to version 6, and to do this I had to change to Open RIA services, but this does not seem to be compatible with Telerik due to it referencing System.ServiceModel.DomainServices. Is it possible to use Open RIA services with Telerik for Silverlight?

Hi Metrico,
Currently, there is no support for OpenRiaServices. This has been logged into our Feedback portal as feature request: Add support for OpenRiaServices
I would recommend you to vote for it, thus making its priority higher.

Check out Telerik Analytics, the service which allows developers to discover app usage patterns, analyze user data, log exceptions, solve problems and profile application performance at run time. Watch the videos and start improving your app based on facts, not hunches.

Hello Tomas,
We were able to test the prerelease version of OpenRIA services. Everything seems to work as expected, however we need to wait for a stable version. Once we have some progress on the matter the Feedback item status will be changed.

Hi Florian,
I think we will have to wait some more because there's still nothing to download.

Hi Florian,
Totally missed that! I guess we will have to hope that Telerik comes up with something soon then. :)

Yes, hopefully within a few hours. ;) We have an important app that needs this compatibility.

Hi,
Indeed there is an official signed version of OpenRIAServices and we are already working on the support for it. The new dll will be included in one of our next Internal Builds right after our testing procedures are passed. We are planning to ship it officially with the upcoming Q1 2015 version which is expected to be released in the beginning of March.

Do I understand this correctly - currently there is no way to use Telerik Silverlight UI with OpenRia right now. No hacks, no workarounds... but starting from march, we will be able to switch to OpenRia without a problem?
We use Silverlight UI v2013, do you guys think, there will be any incompatibilities between this, and newest version, when we will try to upgrade?
Thanks.

Hi James,
I would like to inform you that we've built our RadDomainDataSoure against OpenRiaServices (version 4.4.0.0). The new dll(Telerik.Windows.Controls.DomainServices.OpenRia) is part of our latest internal build. Please keep in mind that this is only beta version of RadDomainDataSource. We are planning to ship it officially with the upcoming Q1 2015 version which is expected to be released in the beginning of March. As for the incompatibilities between your version and our latest - generally we try to avoid any breaking changes in the controls and if such are needed for some reason, they are usually described in our release notes.
