[Solved] NS and Third party SDK usage?

Hello Valio;

I signed up for an SDK that allows an app on iOS and Android to communicate with a remote Flight Controller of a Drone to capture images from the on-board, take video, camera, give commands to the Flight Controller and etc.

I suppose the SDK assumes I'm using a full iOS or Android development environment for developing app. My question is, for situations like this that companies have SDKs,

a) Can we use a third party SDK with NS?
b) If yes, what will be the process of integrating the SDK into NS in order write apps?
c) if Not presently, when do you think that would be available?

Yes - you will be able to consume any native library. We have the tooling  internally, please give us few more weeks to polish them and to make them public and you will be able to use them in your apps.

Hi Chris, yes indeed we planned to have the 3rd party native libraries for this 0.42 release, but we couldn't implement it in a cross-platform manner, so we didn't ship it with this release.

We have it internally almost ready and it will be of great help for us if you tell us which libraries you want to use. We can test them and we can tell you if we see any problems.

Apologies for the delay, but I'm sure we will have it for the release next month.

Let's see. UI wise I think I can do what I need with what's available today.  The main capabilities I am missing are iBeacon/AltBeacon and Push Notifications.  I see push coming in Feb, but I'm not sure where Beacons are on your roadmap.  Are they under localization?

For third party I would like to use http://indoo.rs/ their SDK is free, but you need to set up an account.  They are a super nice team in Vienna and Zurich.

I meant (NS-51) location module and not localization...

Also, will (NS-47) Networking module support multipeer connectivity?

Happy New Year!

Thank you for sending the link to  http://indoo.rs - we will take a look at their SDK and will try to use them inside NativeScript app.

I see you are asking for some iOS specific features - iBeacon and multipeer connectivity. These are available today - you can use everything that is OS-specific even now. There is nothing missing right now. There is no Android-matching functionality for the iBeacon and the multipeer connectivity, so there is nothing we should implement at this stage.

And finally a little update on the push notifications - we will not be able to provide them with the February release - we are working on that, but we will release it later - probably in our March release.
