I'm anxious for someone to come out with a SL 2.0 control that has the ability to use ink for notes and store in sql db.

Think of it as an editor with the ability to use ink. Even just an ink control that has basic pen, eraser, multiple pages would be enough to start with.

I hope Telerik will consider something like this for their SL 2.0 controls. It would be wonderful to finally add some ink functionality that works in web apps .

I'm a tablet wannbe developer.

Any chance Telerik would consider building in any ink support for their Editor or create a separate notetaking control?

It would be fabulous if ink support could be considered.

Hello AK,

Thanks for your question.

Actually we discontinued the support for Silverlight 2 ever since Silverlight 3 became official. We had no reason to delay this decision as Microsoft used to send the update to Silverlight 3 directly through Windows updates. Now that the Silverlight 4 is on its way and there will be significant improvements there, our plans are to officially support Silverlight 4 once it becomes official. We are currently working on a brand new Editing engine. More about our plans can be found in our public Roadmap.

Best wishes,

Thanks Nick. I realize that SL 4.0 is just around the corner. My original post was a long time ago. I was hoping that Telerik would be willing to offer some ink support in the future. It's an untapped market in my opinion. I won't consider putting any $$$ into SL until a vendor includes ink support.

Hello AK,

Once again, thanks for sharing your thoughts. We will definitely research the matter for our future releases. However, I cannot set a certain timeframe at this time as we are not aware of the complexity of this task. We will certainly announce it in our public Roadmaps as soon as we have more specific details.

Best wishes,
Nick
