Hi,

I use tabpages with autoscroll.
When I design the pages and the control is small enough I see the scrollbars.
But I can't scroll in design mode.

With the normal forms control this works!!

Regards

Manfred

Hello Manfred Pohler,

Thank you for writing us.

Currently, we don't support scrolling in RadTabStrip at design-time. We will consider adding such a functionality in the future releases of RadControls for WinForms.

However, if you need to explicitly set some properties of the tabs, you can open the Items Collection editor of RadTabStrip and change the tab properties you need to.

I hope this helps. If you have any further questions, please contact me.

Kind regards,

The same problem still exists in 2008 Q3. Is there a time frame for such function? This is such a basic function for a tabstrip. I cannot believe that it was left out at the original design!!!

Here is what I have to do to get around such annoying problem:

Click on the rabTabStrip control and make it widest as possible, even larger than the hosted form. The tab you want won't be visible but you could still click on its invisible tab and make its panel showed up. Then you could re-size the control back to its original size!

Telerik team: this kind of thing WOULD make or break a decision to use your tools or not! I would suggest that you guys focus on the basic first!

Hi Phi,

Thank you for pointing this out. However I think this is not a problem per se, but a feature that has not been implemented in design time. Yes, it is still missing in the latest version, and the reason is that only a handful of people have requested it. We implement new features based on demand, and we haven't seen much interest in scrolling of the tabstrip in design time.

We understand that this is a limitation if you have many tabs, and I can assure you that we will do our best to implement this feature in the near future.

Best wishes,

Hi. I have to agree. I came on here also trying to figure out why scrolling wasnt working in design time. I thought i was going crazy.
Can't wait for this feature since I like using Telerik Winforms vs some of the others out there.

Hello TwoLaJit,

Thank you for writing. The feature that you mentioned will improve the design time experience of RadTabStrip. We will do our best to implement it for one of the upcoming releases of RadControls for Winforms.

Any other feedback is most welcome.

Sincerely yours,
