Dear Team,
I would like to know the difference between Kendo UI Web and Kendo UI Professional..
We have license for DevCraft and our website developed using ASP.NET MVC 3 and Visual Studio 2012. Now, we are in plan to upgrade the site with the new version of Telerik. So, I would like to know whether we need to use Kendo UI Web, Kendo UI Professional or ASP.NET MVC controls..
If I upgrade my site with Kendo UI Profession then my site work without any issue or do I need to upgrade ASP.NET version to higher..
Thanks,
Prakash.

Kendo UI Web is a discontinued product for more than a year now.
Kendo UI Professional is our client library for web development with HTML and JavaScript, including everything you need to build responsive modern apps for the mobile web.
UI for ASP.NET MVC is built on top of Kendo UI (this means that our Kendo UI framework is included in this product) and also provides server-side ASP.NET MVC wrappers around the Kendo UI widget for easy server-side development. Review this public FAQ and this blog post for more info.
For your case, you can use either Kendo UI Professional, or UI for ASP.NET MVC to build web applications having ASP.NET backend. It is up to you to decide which of these two products suits your needs best.

Thank you very much..
Now, If I upgrade my site which runs in asp.net mvc 3 with latest Kendo UI.. will that is sufficient or do I need to upgrade my site to asp.net mvc5 so that I can use all the new features of latest Kendo UI.
The features in both Kendo UI and UI for ASP.NET MVC do not depend on the version of the ASP.NET MVC framework you are using. Hence you can utilize the same set of features under different ASP.NET MVC framework versions.

Hi Sebastian,
I have been developing a mobile JQuery App with Kendo UI Pro using AppBuilder and am now looking to create a web-based application. I'm a little confused about the best way to spend my time learning. Ideally, I would like to use Visual Studio (however there are no Kendo UI web templates. I see Progress have added some now for mobile Apps), Kendo UI Pro, SPA framework. My data will be residing on a local sql server so I'm not sure if its possible to use Open Access with Kendo UI (not MVC).
I understand Progress is working on some new widgets for Angular 2. Should I wait for these to be released??
Telerik have placed some tutorials online for learning Angular2 with Nativescript. Do you think there will be similar tutorials for Kendo UI & Angular2?
I'm all in for using as much Kendo UI Pro as much as possible. Anyway, just hoping you may be able to provide some suggestions/learning paths.
Thanks, Al
Using Kendo UI with Data Access is documented at:
http://docs.telerik.com/kendo-ui/third-party/using-kendo-with-open-access
Here is an example:
https://github.com/telerik/kendo-examples-asp-net/tree/master/grid-openaccess-crud
Data Access is now a free product, subject to community support.
The roadmap for Kendo UI for Angular 2 is provided at:
http://www.telerik.com/blogs/kendo-ui-for-angular-2-r3-roadmap
Waiting for the product to be released depends primarily on your preferences and time constratins. At this point it is too early to comment on what tutorials we will provide for Kendo UI for Angular 2 in the future.

Dimo
