Kendo UI Grid filtering bugs

Hi,

 

Few engineers on team recently acquired Kendo UI licenses. During our demo of Kendo UI (2016.1.226), we found 2 bugs with Grid control's filtering. I called Telerik to report it and I was transferred to an account executive. He acknowledged the bugs and assured that they will be fixed in the next release. The next release is out - 2016.1.406. The bugs still exist.

Both the issues can be tried in the  below dojo. The dojo is pointing to the latest Kendo UI 2016 Q1 SP2 release.

Here are the steps to reproduce.

Filter issue 1:

1. Click on the column filter icon
2. Type a few characters in the search box
3. Check select all and then click Filter button.
4. The Grid Doesn’t filter.
5. If you don’t check select all and then click Filter button, the grid filters.

Filter issue 2

1. Click on the column filter icon and Check a few checkboxes. Don’t check select all
2. Click Filter button.
3. The Grid gets filtered.
4. Click on the column filter icon.
5. Click on Clear button.
6. The Grid filters are removed.
7. Click on the filter icon again.
8. The options in the list Don’t get updated after Clicking on Clear button.
9. To see all the filter options, you have to type a character in the search box and then delete it.

These are very easy to reproduce.

I will go straight to your questions:

1. I have managed to reproduce it and logged an issue in order to improve the functionality of the MultiCheck filter. I will make sure to send you an email as soon as more information is available.

2. I was not able to replicate the issue in the example that you sent - maybe the instructions are not correct?

Looks like I missed a step for Issue #2:

Here are the steps:

1. Click on the column filter icon.
2. Type a few characters in the search box. For example "che". Check a few checkboxes. Don't check select all.
3. Click Filter button.
4. The Grid gets filtered.
5. Click on the column filter icon.
6. Click on Clear button.
7. The Grid filters are removed.
8. Click on the filter icon again.
9. The options in the list Don’t get updated after Clicking on Clear button. They still show the options visible from Step #2.
10. To see all the filter options, you have to type a character in the search box and then delete it.

I think you should be able to reproduce now.

Found a new bug today.

 

Issue #3:

1. Click on a column filter icon.
2. Type something in the search box to filter the visible options.
3. Click on Clear button.
4. The filter collapses.
5. Click on the filter icon of the same column again.
6. The text in the search box is gone but the list Doesn't update. It still shows data from Step #2.
7. To get the full list back, you have to type a character in the search box and delete it.

This issue seems pretty similar to Issue #2. It is essentially the same as #2 with no filters applied to the grid.
