We need your feedback, because we are considering changes in the release approach for Kendo UI for jQuery. Please provide your feedback in the comments section below:

1. Is it hard to understand the version numbers of our releases? If yes, what makes them hard to understand them?

2. Would semantic versioning (SemVer) of our releases make it easier to understand our version numbers and what's behind them?

3. If we go with SemVer, we might need to start with version 3000.0.0 as we currently use 2022.x.x. Please share your thoughts about this approach and ideas for what number versioning would work best for you.

Hi,

I understand that semantic version is better for breaking changes, but, in the other hand, I love your versioning based on years/releases/updates.

Moving to SemVer can be a good and more standard idea, in this case starting with v3000.0.0 will be terrible... Wath about ignoring "20" and assuming the now we are at version 22? So next will be 23 that's better and more realistic...

I prefer the version numbers correspond to the year that it was released. 2022.1.0 would be the first release in 2022. If you continue doing quarterly, 2022.2.0 would be q2 release. The third could be any minor bug fixes that come out between releases. 2022.1.2 for example.

Hi, same as the others wrote, current version is pretty easy to understand and also to keep track. By my opinion it is better than semantic versioning.

I wouldn't mind if you keep it. :)
