Hi,

I have seen a new initiate from Kendo team named "Kendo UI ASP.NET MVC Mobileā€. I got the information that Kendo UI's MVC Mobile server wrappers will remove the JavaScript coding and we can write coding in C#. But is that something we can use along with Phonegap? Because I am planning to develop a hybrid mobile application (phonegap) with KendoUiMobile and Icenium. Is "Kendo UI ASP.NET MVC Mobile" is a solution for me?

Thanks.

Hi Jane,

You cannot use Kendo UI Mobile for ASP.NET MVC to build a mobile app that can then be packaged with Phonegap (now Cordova). Developing a hybrid app with Cordova requires this app to be created with HTML, JS and CSS, there is no .NET framework on the device to render the HTML/JS. The ASP.NET MVC wrappers would not function outside of MVC project.

Is there any way to develop hybrid mobile apps with MVC4 and Kendo Mobile?

Hi Saadat,

The short answer is no. The long answer is already available in the previous post.

Let me know if anything is unclear and further clarification is needed.

Hello Praveen,

Indeed you can access MVC web sites through a hybrid mobile application, but the app itself can't be develop using the MVC pattern as the initial inquiry was.
Thanks.
