There is a bug with the Kendo grid component. If a grid that has filterable mode "row" and you place the grid inside a Kendo window, the result will be buggy. When you try to change the column widths by resizing the column by dragging the columns wider with mouse, the wrapping window component will behave in an unexpeted way. The window will just suddenly collapse and go very small.

Is there any quick fix for this problem?.

The attached zip archive's index.html demonstrates the bug.

Hi Heiki,

As I have already answered your colleague in the other support thread that you created I will copy my answer here as well:

In order to have resizable grid inside a Kendo UI Window, you will need to set the window resizable option to false, so no resize event will be handled by the window and collapse. Here is an example:

http://dojo.telerik.com/IcEX

If you want to have fixed width of the window, you will need to set the width configuration property of the window, so it will not be resized when the grid is resized as well.

Thank you for the fast answer.  However your example causes the window being resized when you change the column widths. And if you make the grid non-resizable then it won't be possible to change the column widths.

Is there any possibility to make the grid column widths changeable in a way that it won't affect the window at all, and having the window still resizable on its own?

Hi Heikki,

The behavior that you are referring to has been changed and the patch will be available with the Service Pack release scheduled for tomorrow 3rd September. Please download the Service Pack when its available and test again the discussed functionality.
