we are currently evaluating UI for ASP MVC for a customer project. Our customer uses IE 11 with disabled webfonts. Is there a way to use your components with standard svg or png icons (Especially the use of the glyph fonts like WebComponentsIcons, everything else seems configurable)?

Hi,

Thank you for your interest in UI for ASP.NET MVC. I am afraid that we are currently providing only font icons and the product does not provide svg icons. Is it a common case that the projects you work on require IE 11 with disabled webfonts, or it is the first project with such a requirement you work on?

it's problematic in projects for this one customer who takes his security seriously and implemented some guidelines for IE security zone settings provided by the BSI (german goverment agency for information security). I guess the probability of settings like this grows with the company size (generally we are very happy they finally moved from IE8 to IE11 last year ;))

I guess we still have the option to manually replace the font icons with svg (with fragment identifiers), but that seems like a lot of work.

Hi,

Could you share the exact policy which needs to be followed? We would like to test the setup on our side as well. Any guidelines on its setup would be helpful.

in can only provide you with something in German:

https://www.bsi.bund.de/SharedDocs/Downloads/DE/BSI/Internetsicherheit/isi_web_client_checkliste_ie11_pdf.html

Basically that enforces the High Security setting for the Internet zone, which disables "Font Download" in it's default settings.

Hi,

Thank you for the provided resources. I discussed this matter with our front-end architect. I am afraid that currently we do not have a solution for cases where font download is disabled by the browser settings. We have shipped support for font icons in R1 2017 as a result of the following feature request by customers.
