We need to connect actual mobile to system for recording and running mobile web tests. Is it possible to launch and run mobile web tests in simulator/emulator? So that we dont need to connect actual device to system.

Hello Srilatha,
Thank you for your interest!
In general there shouldn't be an issue to use emulators for mobile testing. The only important thing to note about web mobile testing is that the connection to device is only possible via wi-fi. So if the emulators does not support wi-fi you would need to use physical devices for the purposes of automation testing with Test Studio Mobile.
Thank you for your understanding!

Your projects can be tested on many more destinations, automatically—and with more economy—than on a manually run testing system. For example, you can have an arbitrary number of iOS devices connected to the server, and with a single configuration, the system can build and test the libraries, apps, and tests on all of them, and in multiple versions of Simulator as well.

Hi Sarah,
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us.
I could add that the last Android Studio's emulator could also be set to use proxy which makes the web mobile testing possible on simulator as well.
I hope this will be helpful for the community as well!
