Is it possible to get this format to work with a password field? For
example, if I wanted to be able to add hyphens to a private number but
still keep it masked with asterisks so that as the user typed, it would
appear as shown in the image?

Hi Navapon,
The Kendo UI MaskedTextBox is an input element which if the text contains a dash or space and is type password, all characters will be concealed with asterisks. Additionally, each browser handles how the password type will be displayed differently. For example, Microsoft Edge allows a reveal icon to be customized with a standard input textbox. As a reference, the following Progress Kendo UI Dojo shows one way a Kendo UI MaskedTextBox can be set to toggle the input type from password to text.
That being said, I have created a feature request with a vote on your behalf asking for the Kendo UI MaskedTextBox to be configurable to show specific characters when set to type password. Please feel free to add any comments to the request, and follow it for potential updates.
