Hi,

I just downloaded the Q2 Rad Controls. I created a simple windows form application in VS 2008, in C# for testing. Added two GridViews. The left one has theme set to vista (note that nothing visible will happen, not like in the Q1 version where a dark theme was applied). Then from the Property builder I added 3 column for each grid.

issues:
- when applying a theme to the grid, in the VS designer the theme is not recognizable (see picture telerik_theme_color1.jpg, the designer shows a light blue colored square -in background, and the actual theme is nothing like it (black column header and fade-out grid body). So how should I know what am I applying to the application I am working on? It is not a good thing to compile and run the application every time you change a theme, just to see something?
- As you see in pictures telerik_theme_color1.jpg and telerik_coulm_1.jpg, the columns are not visible in the design are in VS. This is also a bad bug like thing.
- after I deleted the columns from the left side Grid (with the Telerik theme), the design view did not change but the hole grid is hidden/not visible while running
(picture telerik_theme_color2.jpg). This issue is probably related to the first issue I mentioned
- minor bug but still unpleasant is that the text "Click here to add new row.." is over the "*"

Thank you

ps. I am using standard stuff: Windows XP with SP2, VS 2008, .Net 3.5, C#, and now the new Winforms Q2 Trial.

Hello Spoook,

Thank you for contacting us.

Regarding your questions:

  1. Yes, you have a point, this is a serious issue and we will address it as soon as possible. Thank you for reporting it.
  2. This issue will be addressed in one of our upcoming releases.
  3. When there are no columns in grid, and the background color is the same as the background color of the control, the grid becomes invisible. I agree, that this is confusing and we will consider changing this behavior in future.
  4. This is a known issue and we are working on it.
Please let me know if you have other questions.

Best wishes,
Jack

Hi,

At this point I am just reporting bugs or things that I see as bugs, or sometimes recommendations for future changes, while testing your software. Like I said in my first post in this forum my company wants to test some products (like this) to see which one to buy for future use. I report bugs not only to notify you, but to see how telerik people handle support and how fast are bug fixes, also checking for future changes/improvements in the software... and in the same time earning some telerik points :).. why not

Thanks

ps. I reported several bugs, why did I got only points for one?.. just asking

Hi Spoook,

Thank you for this clarification.

We highly appreciate any feedback on our controls. Your issue reports and comments are precise and valuable for us and I would like to thank you for these suggestions.

Our answering policy enables us to give Telerik points only for support tickets. This is the reason not to receive Telerik points. I will be glad to give you some points if you post your suggestions as a support ticket.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best wishes,

Hi

thank you for the reply

then I will start to use support tickets. Only it was strange because I had received points for one of my bug reports here on the forum (and saw others receiving as well).. but you're the boss...
A question still:
for bug report should I use:
Submit a support ticket or Report a bug
and for suggestions (not necessary features) should I use
Submit a support ticket or Suggest a feature or General Feedback

Thank you

ps. It seems a little stupid to copy the same thing from here to other part just to get the points.. but this is just me
