I could really use a full-feature Outlook calendar app for my site.  The Telerik calendar control is fine but that is all it is......a control.  Any plans to create a full outlook-like application for calendaring?

Hi Robert,

Several customers have already showed interest in scheduling features and we are indeed considering adding a scheduling control to our ASP.NET suite.  We are collecting feedback from the community and your input will be highly appreciated:
What do you see as key features for a scheduling component?
What are the most common scenarios in which you intend to use it?
Do you have experience with any other scheduling controls for ASP.NET? What are their strong and weak points?

Greetings,

KEY REQUIRMENTS
1. Ability to show Day, Week, and Month view of calendar
2. Outlook-like features to manage calendar
3. Appointment scheduling capabilities
4. Basically, just a pared-down Outlook capability

SCENARIOS
1. Scheduling events
2. Managing facilities
3. Managing individual calendars

OTHER CONTROLS
I only have experience in Outlook which I think is pretty universal.  I am looking for a scaled-down webforms version of Outlook

OTHER
How soon would you be able to have a component for this?  I could contribute to the design if you could execute on it fairly quickly.

I'm happy to participate in the development of the control if you need additional input.  Also, any estimated time of completion?

Ivo,

I just stumbled onto this, one shortcoming Outlook has, is limited viewing the calendar, more than a month specifically, would be handy to be able to show:
1. By quarter
2. By full Year (Calendar or from a date a year into the future)
3. or for full duration of longest task. - be it spanning multiples of standard views.

Ivo,

Another question if I may,

Will it be able to insert other telerik controls within the calendar to filter/select calendar properties or entities?

Thanks,
Best Regards

Hi Pierre,

It would be possible to add a control in the Calendar's footer template, but this is not a good idea because it is initialized on PreRender and only basic controls such as buttons and similar will function in it. That's why my suggestion is to place and configure the controls outside of the calendar.

As to your other request: Please, take a look at the following Multi-Month View demo, which demonstrates how to configured RadCalendar to show more than one month in the calendar area.

Best regards,
Rumen
