Hi, I noticed that when we try out the following sequence,
we get a corrupted excel file on export.
Go to https://dojo.telerik.com/IcoRol
Open the excel file (Attached to this thread)
Export to excel
Result: Corrupted Excel file
I have pinpointed that the issue is related to a filter in
my excel sheet. I’ve added a filter on a column, sorted from A to Z and that’s
when the export issue started occurring. The bad part about it is, once my file
contained a filter, even if I remove that filter, the end result will be that
on export, it generates a corrupted excel file.
Thanks,
Maxime

Thank you very much for reporting the problem.
I can confirm that the described issue is a bug in the Kendo UI Spreadsheet, which is now logged in our official GitHub repository. You can track our progress on resolving it on the following link. I am afraid that there is no viable workaround available for this issue at the moment. In case we find one, we will add it to the logged issue.
As a sign for gratitude for reporting the bug, your Telerik points are now updated.

Hi,
I am having the same issue. When I import the excel file using Kendo spreadsheet control, the file got corrupted and needs to be reparied when try to access from excel or any other program than the spereadsheet control itself.
Please advise the solution for it.

Hi Bhavin,
The described issue is fixed in R2 2018 release. I have tested with our latest version and I did not manage to replicate the problematic behavior. Could you please confirm which is the Kendo version you are using? If it is not the latest one may I ask you to upgrade to the latest and test the behavior?
Looking forward to your reply.

Hi Neli,
Thanks for the quick response. I am using the latest version (2020.2.617.40). Actually my spreadsheet contains merged cells and other formulas and formatting. I have attached the sample spreadsheet for your reference. Please test the attached spreadhseet and advise the solution worked for you. This spreadsheet uploads and loads in spreadsheet control well but than if I try to open the saved spreadhsheet, it gives the message to repair the spreadhsheet first. I mean the saved spreadsheet got corrupted.
Please advise.
Thanks,

Hi Bhavin,
Thank you for providing the file for testing. However, I have tested by importing and exporting the file using our Demos. On the linked screencast you will see the behavior on my end. The file is correctly exported without any issues. Please let me know if I am missing something. May I ask you to test the same file in our Demos and let me know about the behavior?
I will appreciate it if you could isolate the issue in a runnable sample and send it back to us. Thus, we could investigate locally and advise you further. If it is more convenient for you, you could modify the Dojo example linked here.
Looking forward to your reply.

Neli
