    I'm using version "2014.2.716"

In this version calling will return an empty array if there is no tab selected. I see this behavior is different in later versions, where the TabStrip widget instance is returned instead.

So, my question is, what is the official way to determine if a tab is currently selected or not?

By the way, it's changes like this that have made our adoption of newer releases of the framework slow/painful. Looking through KendoUI Release History I don't see any breaking changes listed for TabStrip - yet, here is one.

    Hi Josh,

I tried reproducing this, but to no avail. Basically, the select method should return a jQuery object. If that is not the case I would ask you so share a runnable example where the wrong behavior is observed, so we can investigate further.

    Mea culpa. :(

I'm not able to reproduce this either... I don't know what happened. Anyway, sorry for the runaround and false accusations... to much coffee.

    Thanks Alexander!
