Hello,
Guessing whats happening has something to do with the transparent window used in the Docking control. When our users use one of our programs that contain the docking control inside terminal services everything else disappears. I was wondering if you guys had any ideas on how to get around this? We're thinking of removing the control for now.
Thanks much,
~Boots

Hi Ben,
George
the Telerik team
Thank you for contacting us.
We tested the RadDocking using remote desktop and we have no issues. Could you please give us more information about these terminal services?
I will be glad to assist you further.

Hi George,
We're running the application using a Terminal Services Remote Application. You can find more info at TS RemoteApp. This is a pretty big issue for us cause about 80% of our customers are running our application this way. Please let me know if you need any more info. Talked to our tech department and they said they could show you how to set one up if needed.
Thanks Again,
~Boots

Hello Boots,
Thank you for the clarification. We managed to set up your case and to reproduce the issue.
The Docking control is using a big transparent window to host its ToolWindows and compasses. This is causing the Terminal Service to consider it as a fullscreen application and that is causing the bad behavior. Unfortunately we don't have a work-around for this problem.
We are considering a change in the way RadDocking works and removing this Window as it is causing some other issues as well. But I can't tell you a specific date RadDock will be reworked. The most optimistic date is Q1.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Let me know if you have further questions.
Best wishes,
Boyan

Hi Boyan,
Thanks for getting back to me. Turns out the info i was given was wrong. only about 1% of our customers are using it this way. We're just going to remove the control if SystemInformation.TerminalServerSession returns true.
Thanks Again

Hi Telerik team,
just wanted to ask: Have you changed the implementation of the docking in the meantime? We are using 2011.1.419.35, and the problem with the fullscreen window on a terminal server still exists in that version. Since we are in the process of upgrading to the recent version it wold be nice if the problem would disappear.
Greetings
Marcel

Hello Marcel,
The transparent Window was removed in version 2011.2.712, so all versions after that should not have this problem.
All the best,

Hello Boyan,
sorry for the late reply, as I just now have updated your WPF Libraries. Result: I can confirm that the problem has vanished!
Thanks
