I will start the trial and have several questions about our requirements

What is a prefer way the deploy the report server to Azure?

I not found any example how to use report server as docker container

We use Team Services for deploying our services. Is there any way to change the connection strings during deploying, today the prefer way is environment variables.

Is there multi tenancy support?

Thanks

Hi ifle,

It is preferable to deploy the Report Server to Azure on a Windows Virtual Machine.

Telerik Report Server utilizes GDI+ API that is only available in the full .NET Framework. Therefore, it should be deployed on Windows environment.
Currently we do not support docker containers.

Telerik Reporting reports can use named connection strings. The real connection string is linked with the named one in the application configuration file. This applies for the Report Server as well. Providing different config files for different environment allows for changing also the connection strings based on the environment.

Currently, there is no multi-tenancy support. This feature is in our plans though.

Thanks.

P.S. I get a feeling that I came back 10-15 years ago.

Hi,

Our company's website application uses SQL & ASP.NET. We also use Microsoft Azure Cloud. We have thousands of customers, "admins" that use our in-house generated reports and LMS application.

I'm evaluating the Report Server, and I was wondering about the "multi-tenancy" issues.

will all of our admins be able to use the Report Server product possibly at the same time to create their own reports?

Hi Mark,

The multi-tenancy is in our plans. There is already such a feature request logged in our Feedback portal - Add multitenancy support. You may vote for it to increase its priority.

Currently multiple users may log at the same time and perform their jobs. However, the Report Server does not support multi-tenancy and all the reports will be visible to all the users that have sufficient permissions - check Manage Permissions.

Ok they gave me our account info and was able to download a .msi  ... so problem solved easily

Not sure why they gave me a trial telerikreportserver.exe the first time. =/

Start-Process msiexec "/i Telerik_ReportServer_9_1_23_718_Dev.msi /norestart /passive" -NoNewWindow -Wait;
