For me, in the latest version of chrome the keyboard shortcuts are not working, even on the documentation example.

Examples that use dateInput seem to work.

The documentation for dateInput is somewhat lacking, could someone try and explain what it does?

Further more the angular ng-model binding breaks when using dateInput.

Hi,

Using the latest version of Chrome I tested both the keyboard navigation and angular binding and did not observe any abnormality as you can verify from this and this video. Can you please let us know if there are any steps to reproduce the problematic behavior or is there something special in the machine setup?

As for the DateInput widget its idea is to serve as a date editor. It's main benefit, having a masking functionality for the different parts of the date and allowing the typing of only correct data.

The issues i have are related to being able to increment and decrement dates using the up and down keys, as seen here.

Hello Sam,

Thank you for clarifying.

Indeed when a DateTimePicker without a DateInput is used keyboard navigation does not work and this is expected as it is not implemented. The keyboard navigation which is observed in the other scenario comes from the DateInput not the picker.

As for the ng-model binding this seems like a bug and I have already logged it into our system. You can monitor our progress on the matter from here. As a token of gratitude for reporting this issue to us I have updated your account points.

Finally I would like to apologize for any inconvenience the above bug may have caused you.
