Hi.

I have used ThemeBuilder to create a new Project and I'm wondering if there is any way or tool that I can use to create page design mockups based on the ThemeBuilder project.

I know there is Figma and the Telerik Design System Kits. But I'm not sure if this can really help me because if I use the Design System Kit in Figma and for example drag a grid component in my page design, there is no way to customize the grid component to have more or less columns or rows.

This is only one example but I guess that's the same for all the components. So my question is: Is there any way to create Page Design mock-ups using the components styled in ThemeBuilder where you can customize the component appearance? If this possible in Figma, please let me know how to do this.

Thank you very much!

Greetings,

Bernd

Hello Bernd,

The ThemeBuilder application enables you to create styles for Kendo/Telerik or custom components. However, it is not a tool for creating custom components or page mockups based on them. Note that you can use the ThemeBuilder in the opposite direction - to have a custom component (that contains multiple other elements) and then export them to create your custom styles for the said components. While this is not a page mockup, this approach enables you to use ThemeBuilder to visualize and change the style of complex custom components.

Creating page mockups in Figma (or another third-party tool) is outside the scope of the ThemeBuilder application and support. It will still require dedicated UI designers familiar with the Figma tool, the Kendo components used, and your design requirements. The Telerik Figma UI Kits are also not meant to create page mockups but to help Figma designers and front-end developers better understand the Kendo Design System Kit.

As a side note, the Progress team recently introduced a relatively new product called Page Templates and UI Building Blocks. While I am unsure if it fully meets your needs, it offers several predefined page templates and building blocks you can easily reuse by copying and pasting.
