When I run the version of the Telerik Control Panel that I've downloaded from my account page (ProgressControlPanelSetup_2017_3_1002_3.exe), it runs the Control Panel, but the Control Panel doesn't actually get installed on my computer. This means that I have to keep this exe sitting on my desktop and run it from there every time. Can someone help? This is what the install log says:

The following properties have been set:
Property: [AdminUser] = true {boolean}
Property: [InstallMode] = HomeSite {string}
Property: [ProcessorArchitecture] = AMD64 {string}
Property: [VersionNT] = 6.2.0 {version}
Running checks for package 'Windows Installer 3.1', phase BuildList

Will attempt to elevate process.

Hi Emily,

Thank you writing us.

Let me put more details on the Telerik Control Panel â€‹workflow. When the application is launched after download it will be run from the executable file, but an installation of a Telerik product is required in order to deploy it. Would you please confirm a Telerik product was installed using the Telerik Control Panel?

Looking forward to your reply.

Hi Dyanko,

Yes, I have both Telerik UI for WinForms and JustDecompile installed on my machine. I also have JustTrace but that one doesn't seem to show up in the control panel. The control panel also used to be installed, but every time I ran it it told me it was out of date and that I needed a new one. So...I finally just uninstalled it, then downloaded the new installer, but this installer doesn't appear to actually install the program. It only runs it. Is this how it's supposed to work now? If so how will I know when updates are available?

Thanks,

Emily

Hello Emily,

Thank you for providing more details.

The update workflow of the Progress Control Panel application is the same as in the previous versions. I would suggest to install the latest version using the standalone installer. Please find attached the latest Progress Control Panel standalone installer. Unzip the file and launch the (.msi) file. This should install the latest version of the application.

Please let me know if any questions arise.

Regards,
Dyanko
