Okay, I'm going mad from the renewal notifications that keep coming up in Telerik Control Panel. I have a couple of months and I don't need to be constantly reminded about it.

Is there a way to turn this off, or do I need to prevent the control panel from running all-together?

Hello Anthony,

Thank you for contacting us.

The Updates notifications could be disabled and they wont pop-up until you enable them. The following steps will help you in order to disable them:
  1. Start the Telerik Control Panel
  2. Open the Options window by clicking on the Open Options Menu button (see attachment)
  3. Scroll down in the Options window and uncheck the Enable Notifications check box
  4. Save your changes

Please let us know in case we can further assist you.

Thanks Dyanko. It would be nice if the two types of notifications were divorced. The email notification for renewal I get is sufficient. But, I do like getting product update notifications.

In the meantime, I have all of them disabled, so thank you for that.

Hi Anthony,

I am glad to hear that was helpful.

Disabling the Notifications with the steps provided in my previous post will only prevent the pop up showing in your task bar (Attachment is also available) and should not affect the e-mail notifications.

Please let us know in case further assistance is needed.

Thank you Dyanko. What I meant on that, was that I don't mind the pop-up notifications about new versions. I just don't want the pop-up for renewal notifications. That's why I was suggesting they get divorced (or maybe better put an opt-out for certain notifications).

I know that it was added within the last year, because I didn't get the pop-up notifications about my renewal last year. But, getting an email and then a week later and every subsequent week a pop-up which you cannot quickly dismiss is freaking annoying. A good middle ground is disabling the notifications altogether as you suggested, but the update notification for actual software changes is still useful.

Hello Anthony,

Please excuse us for the late response.

Currently the new versions and expired subscription notification pop up is controlled by the option you had disabled. We will consider splitting these notification pop ups into separate features groups.

Currently you can still receive only new version notifications if you are using our VSExtensions. The following steps will help you in order to enable them in your Visual Studio in case you are using the Telerik WinForms VSExtensions:
  1. Start your Visual Studio
  2. Open the VSExtensions Options... command under the Telerik menu
  3. Select the WinForms sub-tab and check the Show me a message when a newer version is available on www.telerik.com check box

Note that these steps are also applicable for other Telerik products if the VSExtensions are installed for them

Please let us know in case any questions arise.

Regards,
Dyanko
