I need a graph where a ScatterSeries is drawn and also some arbitrary area is drawn (see figure). How to do it?

Hello Valery,

RadChartView provides different type of annotations. Annotations are visual elements that can be used to highlight certain areas on the plot area and denote significant values. You can have a look at the online documentation for further information in order to determine whether it would suit your specific scenario:
https://docs.telerik.com/devtools/winforms/controls/chartview/features/annotations/plot-band
https://docs.telerik.com/devtools/winforms/controls/chartview/features/annotations/marked-zone

Another way I can suggest is to use custom rendering. Please refer to the following help article which demonstrates how to plug any custom implementation of chart renderer: https://docs.telerik.com/devtools/winforms/controls/chartview/customization/custom-rendering.html

I hope this information helps.

You misunderstood the problem. Annotation is a rectangle, but I need an arbitrary region.

Hello, Valery

I have prepared a sample project demonstrating how to draw a ScatterSeries and some arbitrary area in the RadChartView. Feel free to modify it in a way which suits your requirements best. The attached picture illustrates the achieved behavior.

I hope this information helps. Should you have any other questions, I will be glad to help.

Nadya

Hello Valery,

I am sorry to hear that the suggested solution is not applicable for your case. Actually I used ScatterAreaSeries and add four arbitrary points which mark also some arbitrary area. Am I missing something? Could you please send more information or get back to me with a sample project so I can investigate the precise case? Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

I am looking forward to your reply.

You again did not understand me. I did not write that your solution can not be used.

Adding arbitrary areas to a graph is a frequently occurring task. For example, such areas are easily added to MSChart using SeriesChartType.Range. Why is this feature missing in your components?

Hello Valery,

Currently, we haven't had similar requests for the RadChartView. After discussion with the team, we approved this as a feature request. You can track its progress, subscribe to status changes and add your comment to it here. I have also updated your Telerik Points.

Should you have any other questions, do not hesitate to ask.
