Hello,

I think I have found a bug in your datagrid. If you open a datagrid's filter pop-up, navigate away from the page, then go back to the page, the filter pop-up will still be open. If you attempt to close it, by way of the "X", the app will crash. In debug mode, a null reference error will occur. If navigating away from the grid with the filter closed, no crash will happen. This happens both in a tabbed view, switching from one tab to to another and back, and in the xamarin shell navigation. This happens in both my app and the example app you provide.

Is there a way to close the filter pop-up upon un-focus or switching views or something?

Thanks

Hi John,

For this, I recommend you use the Support Ticket system to open a Support Ticket (you can bookmark this link for future use) or open a Bug Report via the UI for Xamarin Feedback Portal. A Forum post make take a few days to get a response, whereas a priority Support Ticket guarantees a <24 hr response.

For your convenience, I have opened a ticket for you and copied over the text. You can find the ticket in your support tickets list as Ticket ID: 1447693.

Hi Lance,

The ticket you opened was given a response, but closed by the staff. The issue is not resolved, and I found more information that might help in the troubleshooting of the issue. It seems this issue is not just related to the Xamarin Shell, but switching from the Telerik TabView also causes this issue. I'm not sure if there is a way to re-open the ticket so there can be some discussion on this, but the workaround given in that ticket did not solve the issue. For now, we have disabled the options menu as this causes the issue, but we will need resolution on this issue if we are to use the features such as organizing columns, etc.

Thanks.

Hi John,

You can always reply to a ticket. If it is closed, your reply will automatically re-open it.

Regarding the issue at hand, I spoke with Yana and she explained they should be done working on it tomorrow.

Note that just because the code fix may be completed tomorrow, it still needs to run through tests before it is available in the next release. You can reply to the closed case and ask for an internal build if you cannot wait until then.

Hi John,

I'd like to quickly follow-up on the issue - the team managed to fix the erroneous behavior with Filtering UI in the DataGrid, now the filtering popup is closed when you navigate out of the page, no matter of the navigation you're using.

Please have in mind that the fix will not be included in the upcoming R1 2020 - it will be available with the first minor release after R1. The feedback item will be updated as soon as the fix is officially released.

In the meanwhile, as Lance suggested, we can provide you an internal build containing the fix, so you can enable and use the Options menu in RadDataGrid.  If that's acceptable for you, please let me know and I will send it in the corresponding ticket.

I remain at your disposal for any additional questions you might have.

Regards,
Yana
