Hi,

Our team is planning to apply Telerik UI for our Xamarin Forms application specifically on Calendar and Scheduling functionality. Before buying the said product, we would want to explore it first using the free trial. I installed the Telerik UI for Xamarin package on my Mac and I can't seem to install it. I am getting this message, is there a newer version for this trial package?

Moreover, Telerik.UI.for.Xamarin is not available on the nuget package when I add it as per advised on the documentation here (https://docs.telerik.com/devtools/xamarin/installation-and-deployment/telerik-nuget-server#add-telerik-ui-for-xamarin-pack-in-visual-studio-for-mac ) Is there a newer documentation for this one?

Hoping someone can help. Thank you.

Hi Jesserine,

First, regarding the installation error - this happens because of a new change in MacOS. In order to get around it, you will want to download and save the file first, then right-click/two-finger-click on the downloaded file and select "Install".

Because you chose to start the installation from the context menu, you will see two buttons in the popup, one will allow you to continue with the installation. Let me know if you have any further trouble with this.

As to the mentioned issue with the Telerik nuget package - I'm unable to tell exactly what is wrong here. It could be a wrong source URL, a Telerik account credentials problem or just a slow network issue. I confirm the documentation article is up to date.

Can you see the initial list of packages after changing the package source to the Telerik one:

That will tell me if the connection is incomplete or if you're just not seeing the filter result.

Starting Fresh

There have been issues in the past with whitespace with NuGet on Linux and MacOS in the past. I recommend naming the package source with a single word with no whitespace.

Let's make sure you're on the right starting point:

  1. Open the package manager settings
    1. Expand Visual Studio menu > select Preferences...
    2. Expand NuGet > select Package sources
  2. Remove the existing "Telerik NuGet" package source (you want to remove it and not just rename it)
  3. Add a new package source
    1. Name this one Telerik_NuGet (with an underscore instead of whitespace)
    2. Enter the complete URL: https://nuget.telerik.com/nuget
    3. Enter your account credentials
    4. Click "Add Source"

Now go ahead and try searching the server package list. Note that because you have a trial and not a purchased version, the package name will be "Telerik.UI.for.Xamarin.Trial".

Please give it a try and let me know if you still experience any difficulties with this.
