Hi Team

When converting a date string to a Date object using the kendo.toString method, the month name is displayed according to the Islamic calendar instead of the Gregorian calendar. This issue arises when using the Arabic culture settings.

dojo - https://dojo.telerik.com/IPadawaP

Observation - I think it considers the month incorrectly and shows the month name as per Islamic calendar.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

Indeed it seems that the Islamic names are used. The culture settings for formatting come from here. When the culture files were initially created they were generated based on .Net standards so it seems that the calendar there used Islamic names. I am not sure what the exact behavior should be. If you can provide us with info in regards of this culture formatting that would be great. Additionally bear in mind that the culture files are open source and you can create a PR to alter them. The changes will later be applied to the internal logic as well. Before accepting the change however we should make sure that the formatting should use Gregorian calendar.
