Telerik UI for PHP encapsulates Kendo UI Complete (Web + DataViz + Mobile JavaScript libraries) and PHP wrappers , designed to be used effortlessly with any modern PHP framework or in stand-alone PHP apps targeting the mobile web.
The wrappers included with Telerik UI for PHP span the breadth of Kendo UI Web and DataViz widgets. At the present time, wrappers for Kendo UI Mobile aren’t included.
Since the PHP world is one of the largest up-to-date programming ecosystems, our goal is not to limit our Telerik UI for PHP product to a specific framework or runtime, but position it as a universal solution for all developers.
Instead of limiting our wrappers to a specific framework or runtime, we have created a generic set of server wrappers applicable everywhere. This means that you can integrate Telerik UI for PHP with Zend, Yii, CakePHP, CodeIgniter, Symfony, any other modern PHP framework, or use it in “vanilla” PHP apps.
Kendo UI is a framework with everything you need to build sites and mobile apps with HTML and JavaScript. It has no dependencies on a specific server-side technology, making it universally usable by any web developer. In fact, Kendo UI widgets can be used in apps with no server-side dependencies, making it ideal for offline and mobile HTML5 apps.
Telerik UI for PHP adds to the core Kendo UI client-side framework by allowing PHP developers to initialize and work with the widgets completely on the server-side. As a set of helpers that sit on top of Kendo UI, Telerik UI for PHP cannot be used without the Kendo UI client-side libraries.
Yes. You can use Kendo UI (Web, DataViz, and Mobile widgets) in PHP web applications without the PHP server wrappers. This can be done by simply adding client-side references to the Kendo UI JavaScript and CSS resources and working with the Kendo UI JavaScript API directly from client code.
However, if you would like to leverage your existing PHP programming skills when using Kendo UI widgets for modern web development, your preferred choice should be Telerik UI for PHP.
