Is there a way to have a Y Category?

I’d like to have a list of processes on the Y Axis and a list dates on the X Axis, so that I display a line graph of the processes an item as existed in over time.

I would need to build the Y Axis in manually from a dataset of Process_Name, Process_ID.

Then graph a line from a dataset of Process_ID , Date_Entered

I hope this makes sense,  I don’t see any of your examples use text in the y axis except for a bar graph and that’s not what I need here.

Hi Richard,

Currently you can have categories only on the X-axis. Y-Axis takes only numerical data. One thing that you can do is to group your data on Process_ID and use custom formatting expression to display the Process_Name. For the tick marks on the axis you can listen for the DataBound event and change their label accordingly. Your chart will look just as it has a categorical Y-Axis.

I have attached a working solution demonstrating this approach. You can find more information on formatting expressions in our help system here.
