The WebUI Test Studio beta installs as a trial.  When the full version comes out, will it be included in the "Premium Collection"?  Will current owners of such a license automatically get WebUI Test Studio (like what happened with ORM), or will it be separately purchasable?  This is a great new product!

Thank you for the good words on the new Telerik WebUI Test Studio product. We believe it will be a great addition to Telerik's rich portfolio of .NET tools. We are looking forward to hearing your feedback.

Telerik WebUI Test Studio will not be part of the Premium Collection and will be sold separately. It will be a per-machine license priced at $2499.

Hi Ivo,

I just had my company make the purchase of the automation tool after I evaluated the beta. I do believe it will be a great addition. After evaluating several freebies, they did not compare to the robustness of webui. But now for my primary complaint, the licensing model seems very restrictive.  As I understand it, once activated it's bound to that machine for all test development. As a developer I float around, I sometimes telecomute from my house, other times I work on a job site; also at my job site I have access to different locations for doing development. At my work site where I activated the tool, they cycle the hardware every couple of years.

Is Telerik going to allow a transfer of the license to a new machine without cost? 

If I'm missed informed on the licensing please let me know. 

Is there any way I can get webui activated for my home computer?

Please refer to the FAQ available online here.

Can I move my license from one computer to another?


Yes, you can. In order to move the license to another computer, the license must be deactivated by uninstalling. If an internet connection is not available, you need to contact sales@telerik.com to deactivate your license. Only then can you activate the license on another computer.


We cannot support the same license usage on different machines simultaneously, though.

Bruce, I also hope you will find the WebUI Test Studio a great addition to the tools. Don't forget the support marked with "Telerik" as well. ;-)
