I am performing a migration from an existing WSS v2 implementation which uses teh r.a.d.Editor control to the new WSS v3 platform and want to continue using the r.a.d.Editor control.
Will I need to install this newer beta or will the existing r.a.d.Editor continue functioning as a web part in WSS v3?

Hello Jesse,
We have tested both the old (v5.6x) and the new (v6.5x) editor in WSS V3. We noticed some problems with the old editor's media dialogs (server exceptions). The new editor seems to be working just fine (you can check out the other thread in this forum about MOSS integration).
I suggest that you install the new beta version of the web part or wait for the final release (in a couple of weeks). The new editor also solves a number of problems, such as Internet Explorer crashes due to a faulty Microsoft IE patch.

I'm not afraid to use betas, obviously, but I do want to confirm that the content from the previous version of the control will work in place with the new, beta, version of the r.a.d.Editor.

Hi Jesse,
If you follow the upgrade instructions properly, the web parts from the previous version of the editor will work. The instructions are available in the r.a.d.editor_SharePoint.chm file or online in our help center. Just make sure that you add the correct old and new versions in the <bindingRedirect.../> tag in your web.config file.
