Any plans for supporting your components for WinUI C++ applications?

Hi Mohamed,

Thanks for your interest in Telerik UI for WinUI. It should be possible to load C# components in C++ app, however we haven't tested it yet. We will investigate the scenario and follow up as soon as possible.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,

Kalin

Hello Mohamed,

Thanks for your patience. After further investigation appears that loading C# components in WinUI C++ apps is not supported yet. The good news is that it is currently in the works and it will be available with the stable WindowsApp SDK version 1.0. Once it is available we will write blog or docs article about it, so stay tuned.

If you have any other questions - please let me know.

Regards,
Kalin

Hello Kalin,

I am interested in using Telerik for WinUI C++/WinRT Desktop Projects. Is that possible now?

Thank you in advance.

Alfred

Hey Alfred. Currently, this is still not possible. The Telerik UI for WinUI components can be used only in C# based WinUI projects (UWP and Desktop).

Hi Martin, is it still planned to support C++?

If so, what is the timeline?

Thanks!

Best Regards

Alfred

Hi Alfred, supporting this scenario will require us to rewrite all the WinUI components in C++. We don't have any immediate plans to do this. Alternatively, if Microsoft provide support for allowing to reference C#-based WinUI dlls in a C++ WinUI project, it should become possible to use the Telerik components in that scenario.

Thanks,

Hey Kanaka, if you mean a C++ application, no, this is still not supported.

Hi Martin Ivanov,

Thanks for your reply. We have mainly intention to use grid control to replace our other 3 rd party grid control in Visual C++ applicaiton (MFC). Any future plans to support in MFC (Visual C++ ) of this grid control?

Thanks,

Ramakrishna

Hi Ramakrishna. Currently, to support this we will need to re-write the Telerik UI for WinUI suite in C++. We don't have any immediate plans to do this. However, if you manage to reference the currently available Telerik UI for WinUI dlls (which are built against C#) in a C++ desktop project and use them there, please feel free to let us know, so we can explore the approach you used.
