I need to know what should I start developing new modules with.
Could you give me a piece of advice please?

Thank you!

Hi George,

Generally most of the new development will target the new charting control (now re-branded to RadChartView), however, you should evaluate whether to use RadChart or RadChartView on project by project basis and based on the specific project requirements as both products probably will never have 100% feature parity (e.g. we have no immediate plans to add 3D support for the new control and when we do, we will probably aim for implementing true 3D series that visualize XYZ points like Manhattan Bar and 3D Surface chart types).

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Are there still no plans to implement the 3-D series into RadChartView?  Do you have another method to recreate what RadChart accomplished with the 3-D series?

Hi Jared,

RadChartView still doesn't support 3D series and our current planning doesn't include implementing such visualization. However, we have a feature request for 3D series logged in our feedback portal where you can track its status. You can also take a look at the ChartViewCustomization help article that demonstrates series with a gradient that mimics depth in the data points fill color.

Keep in mind that we think that 3D charts doesn't bring a better understanding for the plotted data to the end user in a scenario with 2 dimensional data. Furthermore, the additional dimension might be confusing for perceiving the displayed information.

Regards,
Martin
