The wide tiles will be supported in the new version of LiveTileHelper for both Windows Phone 7 and 8. The updates will be part of our official release next month.

Do you have an ETA on the update to include the wide tiles?
Also, how do we comprehend version numbers? Currently the Telerik Control Panel says '2012.3 1311 (JAN. 11, 2013) is currently available. I'm assuming it's Quarter 3 of 2012, but I'm not sure how the 1311 corresponds to the date. Is that simply a build number?

The wide tiles will be part of our Q1 2013 release on February 20th.
As to the number 1311 - yes, it corresponds to January 11th. But since it is the version of the Service Pack which is related to our release from last year, the numbers for the month continue. Think of January as the 13th month since the beginning of 2012.

Hi,
I wasn't able to find how to add the Wide tiles feature to my application using the LiveTileHelper or any documentation related to it, could you help me with this issue or is the feature not available in the latest release?

Hi Stefano,
Thank you for your question.
Here you can read more about the different tile templates and visual elements that can be added to each of them. In short, you need to define a new RadFlipTileData and set its WideVisualElement and/or WideBackVisualElement to the visual element that you want to be used in the tile.
Make sure that you have checked the value of the AreNewTilesSupported property before trying to use these features in a WP7 application. Also you need to have a device and/or emulator with WP7.8 or newer in order to use these new tile templates.
