I have been experimenting with the Split Containers demo an it appears that if I remove all RadPanes from a container then the other container(s) claim the space and the empty container is removed/deleted, is this the case? If so is there any way to prevent this from happening as I would like to keep the layout fixed but allow users to move panes between different containers.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.

I am not sure I understand your scenario. When all panes are removed from a RadSplitContainer, this container has no items to show, so it disappears. But you could always dock the panes again to the previous location.

Could you please give us more details about your scenario, it would be very helpful. I will be glad to assist you further.

Greetings,

Hi,

I would like to provide the user with different layout templates (replicating sharepoint functionality for creating a new web part page), such as 3 columns, 3 rows, 1 header row, 1 footer row and a middle row that has 3 columns. However the template would not include any panes, the user would then drag and drop new panes into these regions (not sure if this is possible) or the new panes would be added programticaly via button clicks on some sort of tool bar.

Hello,

You could easily add panes in the code behind. Attached you can find a sample project that illustrates how to add panes on button clicks. I hope this helps

Best wishes,
