Basically, the skins are similar, but indeed there are some differences between the RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX and the MVC extension's ones.
The main reason for this difference is the technology - the skins are created in a different way. For example, the MVC extensions' skins use primitives - all components share the same sprite image. On the other hand, every RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX skin uses its own sprite image (or several ones, depending on the control). If you need your MVC components to look exactly the same as RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX, you need to use custom skins.
