Hi there,

Merry Christmas.
I am new to Telerik controls for Silverlight, when I work some controls without web it alwasys works perfect but always has "error on page" message when I try to access from site. That means it works well in Visual Studio but not working in http mode, just nothing on the page. I believe there is some setting in IIS I don't know about. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi allan,

Can you provide more info about this error? Do you get the same on our online examples?

Thanks for reply. I can run the demo without any problem. But any otehr projects I created from VS 2008 with web site or web application options are not accessible from site. When I type in http://localhost/aliasname/xxxtestpage.aspx or html it just gives nothing on the screen. Or sometimes it gives the error msg like "Initialize error: could not download Silverlight application. check web servers settings." But same project can be run in VS without any problem. Do I need set up IIS server specially? I already add ".xap" to MIME settings. Thanks.

Hi allan lee,

If you remove the SL application are you accessing the ASPX page correctly?

If you do, then the obvious reason is that the XAP extension is not added correctly into the IIS. Please check this blog post for more info:
http://weblogs.asp.net/cschittko/archive/2008/03/03/silverlight-2-0-app-not-starting-fix-iis.aspx

After you configure your IIS correctly, please try to access the XAP file directly from the browser and see if it actually downloadable.

Let us know how it goes.

All the best,

Seems not much to configure for IIS server. I used another server to host the same web which can not be working in a one, it works so I think probably something wrong with that malfunctioned server. Thanks for your efforts.
