I arrived in this forum following the link published here http://www.telerik.com/help/silverlight/map-create-basic-application-bing-maps.html in search of the sample RadMap - Bing Maps application, but I don't see where it is.

Hi Kevin Broughton,
Prior to December 31st, Microsoft used much more complex authentication mechanism for Bing Maps with authorization tokens that needed to be retrieved through a web service. In order to facilitate the learning curve for our customers, we provided a sample application that had all necessary services wired up and bridged to the Silverlight application (so the token can be used by the Silverlight app). However, Microsoft obsoleted this authentication mechanism and now uses Bing Map Keys that can be obtained as described here.
We have attached a sample application as well -- but it is now nothing more than initialization and assignment of a map provider with the string ApplicationId key (as described above). We will remove the misleading link from the documentation as well.
