it seems that the nativescript samples repo is not accessible anymore:

https://github.com/valentinstoychev/nativescript-samples

I cannot find any NS getting started sample anywhere.
Can you point me to some repo with simple example?

Moreover, trying to create an app from the NS CLI with "tns create Hello", it will generate a sample hello world doesn't generate an app.js but specific js file for both ios and android with a lot of code to create the mainWindow. Is this template outdated?

Hi Antonio,

yes - you are correct. We are performing a cleanup of resources right now while preparing for the beta release next week.

Please give us some time and the appropriate resources will be back online and updated with the beta bits.

We can't wait to go public and start sharing all the samples and blog posts we have prepared lately! :)

Best,
Valio

Hi Valio,

I imagined that. But you will make me happy if you can make me able to run some simple helloworld before, if possibile. I am preparing a comparison among NativeScript, Titanium and Xamarin (and maybe React Native if the FB guy will support me) for my final dissertation (actually it's my second university degree) and probably some blog posts. I have to submit the final document to the university by march 11th, that's why I am asking.
The goal is develop this app:
https://github.com/EtnaTraining/MoviesDemo
with NativeScript. I think all the bits are already available in NS (NavigationWindow, ActionBar, SearchBar/SearchView, HTTP request)

I hope I will be able to do that.
Thank you, Best,
Antonio

Hey Antonio -

I understand! I will follow up over email tomorrow to see what we can prepare especially for you.

Will love to see your experience using those three frameworks. I'm sure NativeScript will be the best one ;-)

thank you
I promise at least a blog post in English (unfortunately the dissertation will be in Italian) and a github repo with the implementation for all 3 platforms.
NS has great chance to be the best, especially if I will be able to build for Windows Phone too :)
The metrics could be:
- performance (loading time and tableview scrolling fps)
- memory footprint and binary sizes
- code share among platforms
- # lines of code

I am looking forward to start experimenting
Thank you in advance
