It appears ValueString property is updated after the SelectedValue_Changed event is fired. The ValueString I get within this event is having old value.

Thanks for writing.
I have tested the scenario on my side and the ValueString seems to be correctly updated when the ValueChanged event gets fired. It will be great if you manage to paste some code here that we can use to reproduce your case and be able to debug it.
