When do the 2.0 Controls Release?

When do you expect the 2.0 tools to release?  They look great, but until we can get a true preview, can't be sure they will work.

I am using the telerik controls for three years now. At the moment they are used mostly within your cms Sitefinity we are using for all our website development projects.

Last month we started a new project that should be based on Silverlight controls. I already looked at your RadControls for Silverlight 1.1/2.0 online demo.
We have to make some decisions how we should go further in this project in short time. Therefor I need to evaluate your RadControls for Silverlight 1.1/2.0 (not the 1.0 version). Is it possible to download these controls to evaluate them right now?

Hi Luc Baeten,

It is not recommended to download the current controls, because they were initialy created for 1.1alpha version of the silverlight plugin and there will be many changes in the API and generaly in the source of the controls. 

We will have a public beta for Q2 (which is in July.2008).

Please open a support ticket and give us more details on your project and we will see how we can help you, according to your deadline.

I wonder if you can update us with release date of Controls for Silverlight 2.0. Microsoft already released 2 in beta 1 and even some controls.
I need to know this because I will start project in a couple of days where I was hoping to use telerik set of controls for Silverlight 2.0 because Telerik is the only set of controls we are using right now.

Hi NS,

We decided to release a CTP of the controls, together with the beta2 of the silverlight plugin so you are able to use the latest plugin with our controls. The beta of the Silverlight plugin by initial plans should be released in the middle of May. 

Our CTP will include a Treeview control.

In our first release we will not include a Grid control.

HTML editing is something that we want to offer you too and I know that there is a huge demand for such control in Silverlight, but currently this would be very hard to implement due to the lack of any html rendering support in the platform. There are some open source implementations of basic rich text editing in Silverlight. You may be interested in looking at this project specifically:

Hello Peter,

Thanks for your interest in our RadControls for Silverlight 2.

Unfortunately, we cannot send you a pre-release edition as it is not compatible with the current official Silverlight plug-in. As soon as Microsoft release the official Silverlight 2 Beta 2, we will also be able to launch our controls bundle. The official release is expected to be by the end of next week at the latest.

We are already working on the DataGrid control. Hopefully we will have something to share with you in the next couple of months. We are targeting the Q3 timeframe for the first code drop. For the moment you can use the Microsoft DataGrid control instead.
