Please see the attached image...
What is that grey background? It's not the background, i have that set to transparent.
And how do I turn it off?

Found the answer myself - this line of code turned it off:
TempoDetailChart.DefaultView.ChartArea.AxisY.StripLinesVisibility = Visibility.Collapsed;
