I recently uninstalled the RadEditor 2.0.1 cab file from Sharepoint 2007. The 2.0.1 control was being created and showing content, however, I was having a problem when I would edit the content and an error would display showing a problem with the Toolsfile.xml file. I was told that the new version of the control would work. So I uninstalled 2.0.1 and now installed Sharepoint MOSS RadEditor, and I am recieving this error below for every place on my pages where the old RadEditor would at least be displaying content.
Web Part Error: A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type could not be found or it is not registered as safe.
Can someone please assist me in getting this to work? I would really appreciate it!

Hi Steve,
Since the webparts were created with the old version of the editor, MOSS will look for that particular version when you try to open the page, even though you have a new version installed. I am not sure that you can fix this problem, since the MOSS editor has a different type for the web part, which means that you cannot use the normal upgrade procedure (<assemblyBinding> section in the web.config file and a <SafeControl> entry for the old version).
If you want to preserve the content of the old web parts, you need to install the old version again, copy the content and then delete the web parts before you uninstall it again. If you do not need to save the content of the web parts, simply remove them and add the new version instead.

This is really an unacceptable answer. We have used RadEditor 2.0.1 on our Sharepoint Portal Server 2003 for sometime now and have MANY pages that use this control. What your asking is obviously not going to happen since we have 100's if not 1000's of pages that use the RadEditor on our global intranet. We simply cannot "copy the content" from all of these pages. We need a solution which we can install a version of RadEditor for Sharepoint 2007 and the control works again or provide a possible solution to move the content to the MOSS rich text editor webpart.
We must have a solution that offers a complete upgrade path from Sharepoint Portal Server 2003 running RadEditor 2.0.1 to Sharepoint 2007 (MOSS) to your latest MOSS compatible RadEditor control.
You mentioned that we cannot use the "normal" upgrade procedure. Can you please provide me with documentation or point me to a support article that details a process for upgrading? We need to preserve the "old" content.
Any help would be appreciated. Just please dont tell me I have to copy all the content out of the old controls and recopy it into the new control to preserve the content.
