I have downloaded the Wizard and installed it - no problems.
Read the documentation - nothing unusual there.
Noted limitation that this wizard is limited to OA 2009.2.720.1 :
Does that infer that 2009.2.720.5 will be a problem?

I have pointed the wizard to open various DLL created by VS2008 using the OA VS Add-in but couldn't get it to work - "Error Assembly didn't load successfully!"

How do I get this going?

Hello Richard Newson,
Please excuse us for the delay. We will be shipping new version of the wizard that supports all Telerik OpenAccess ORM versions very soon. In the meantime we are working on a workaround, and I will notify you asap when it is available.

Hello everybody,

I noticed the same problem. ==> "Error Assembly didn't load successfully"

Furthermore I am already using the latest version of your WCF Wizard which has this Version Store already included and I added my version "2009.2.701.5" successfully to this version store. After a necesarry restart of this wizard and selecting my dll again, it gives me the exception! I tried very simple sample classes like common examples from videos and code samples. Same result ==> Exception loading the assembly.

Then I tried the latest version of Telerik.OpenAccess.dll  "2009.2.826.1" also but no result. Same Error saying "Error Assembly didn't load successfully!"

Can you please support us regarding this issue. This tool is really great, if it works!

Thanks in advance!!!!

Hello,

I'm also having the same problem.  I'd like to add that I'm using Windows 7 64 bit, could this be causing a problem?

Thanks

Hello Lars Solberg,
Guys this is a reply just to provide you with the information that we are still working on polishing the wizard's behavior as there are numerous problems, not only the versioning. When we are done a new version will be uploaded for you in the Telerik Labs.

Kind regards,

Hi Telerik Team,

any updates so far or a release date when the next version will be available?

It would be really nice to use this tool, because writing all the WCF-Functions is a big effort in my huge data model.

Furthermore there are still other issues open using WCF Services in combination with Telerik ORM. (like loosing the transaction scope so that each obj reference has to be loaded from db again before insert/update operations, Memory Issues!!! of increasing ASPNET.wp.exe task up to 2GB of RAM and don't freeing (disallocating) this memory again, etc etc etc)

Please provide information on timelines here.

Thanks!
Heiko

Using the latest Version of this Wizard which is directly integrated into VS2008 I get always the following (very helpful) error without any further information or details.

Value does not fall within the excepted range.

This error even occurrs on the simplest test classes and even if i use the same sample scenario.

Hi Heiko,

Can you please tell me which version of OpenAccess you are using? It would be very helpful if you can provide a script for your database as well.
Note that the current version of the Data Services Wizard works with OpenAccess version 2009 Q3 or higher.

Hi Heiko,

We just released a beta version of the Telerik OpenAccess Data Services wizard.
I suggest you to try it out, there are a lot of old issues solved there and we also added a VB support.
If you have Astoria 1.5 installed on your machine you can use Astoria 2 Services as well.
We also solved the WCF cyclic reference with the generated WCF services and we have plansto support RIA services in furthure releases too.

You can get the latest update from here:
http://www.telerik.com/products/orm/telerik-data-services-wizard.aspx

Please let us know if you have any more issues.

Best wishes,
