I recently installed the Telerik MVC package to VS 2010. When I restarted VS, it told me there was an extension to update. When I try to update that extension, the installer downloads, but it fails to actually install. It just locks up and does nothing. I have to quit VS via the task manager. Is there some other way to fix this?

Here is a screenshot to better explain what I'm seeing... http://screencast.com/t/krPbhinbza

Hi Toddhd,

In case you are using User Account Control, the issue could be caused by an inaccessible permission dialog.

I would recommend trying to run the Visual Studio process with elevated privileges (right-click on your Visual Studio shortcut -> Run as administrator) and attempting the upgrade again.

Let me know if that helps.

All the best,
