Hello, having just upgraded to the latest version of Data Access, every time I load Visual Studio 2013, the toolbox items ObjectView and ObjectProvider keep on being added. How can I stop this from happening as I now have dozens of these two items in my Data Access tab in the VS toolbox?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

Thank you for contacting us about this issue. In general, we are aware about it, although until the time present we were unable to reproduce it consistently and to isolate what causes it. In each of the known cases, resetting the Toolbox window solves the visual problem without further complications.

In this connection, could you right-click on any of the sections in Toolbox and select the Reset Toolbox option?

If the problem starts to appear again, could you provide us with environment details like, the specific version of Visual Studio 2013 you use, the version of the .NET Framework, OS on your side, list of installed products in Visual Studio?

Let us know how the things are on your side.

Doroteya

Hello Jonathan,

I am sorry you are still experiencing this behavior and thank you for the details.

On our side, we are going to replicate the setup you provided and we will perform some additional testing. I will make sure to update you will the result as soon as we have it.

In the mean time, you could exclude the OpenAccess section from the Toolbox window, if you are not using ObjectView and ObjectProvider. To do so, you need to right-click on the OpenAccess section and select Delete Tab.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hello Jonathan,

Thank you for your cooperation.

Thanks to the provided details we reproduced the issue and it is logged on our side as a bug. The investigation about the cause is ahead and therefore I cannot provide you with a definitive timeframe for the release of a fix.

Until the issue is resolved on our side, and if you find it convenient you could remove the OpenAccess section from the Toolbox window as suggested below.

Do let us know if you need further assistance and information.
