Hi there :)
Great product have to say.

My question is can I do voice control in icenium and/or voice recording. I didn't find this in your doc.

Example : I say button, and button is clicked. Just wanna control my app with voice. Simple :)

Thank you.

Hello Ivan,

Cordova itself does not offer an API for speech recognition, so this is not available out of the box. Google provides built in speech recognition through the Speech Input API for Android, but it foes to a Google server for analysis i.e. it is not what you want. There is a custom Cordova plug-in (probably build around the speech input API) for Android (see it here), but we do not support it at this time. There does not seem to be a way to do this for iOS platform at this time.

So to sum up, it is currently not possible to provide voice recognition for your app using our cloud offering.

Hi Ivan,

Thank you for the kind words - much appreciated!

As mentioned in my previous post, there isn't a way to build speech enabled apps for the iOS, unless you take advantage of speech recognition services (would restrain from posting names, but you can find it). that offer iOS SDKs for speech recognition in mobile apps.

If you're aiming Android, you'll be glad to know that we're working on generic pluginstall Cordova plug-ins, so you would be able to utilize any compatible plugins that offer speech recognition directly in your hybrid app.

All the best,
Steve

Hi Simon,

Custom Cordova plugins are supported in Icenium since Icenium 1.6. The Android plugin I referred to in this thread seems to be updated against Cordova 3.0, so you should be able to use it in Icenium. For instructions please refer to our documentation: Working with Custom Plugins.
