Hi All,

When creating a new app, do you typically use Views (Screen Builder), clone a sample or just craft from scratch?

I am new to Telerik and have used Views but am finding it hard to navigate around and customise the standard generated code.

Thanks in advance,

David

Hi David,

Either option is good for starting your app.

Our "Views" service gives the possibility to quickly scaffold your app and create the main views. You could quickly create your home, authentication, master default, and any form views. Thereafter you could fine tune your app in the "Code" service. You could also create your own view templates and reuse them to create views not listed in the default list (more information about the custom views could be found here).

If you decide to start from a project template or a sample you will have the chance to explore the code of a working app (please, note not all the templates and samples are compatible with "Views" service). You could find a list with the samples and a short description for each here.

Starting from scratch gives you the full control of the app and the app structure. More information about getting started with the service you find here for hybrid apps and here for NativeScript apps

If you are not sure whether you will need a hybrid or a native app this article could help you decide.

I would also encourage you to go through our interactive tutorials if you have not done it yet.

Hope this gives you the needed information.

Regards,
Svetlio
